MArketing Plan

The Final assignment for my Music Industry and the Media course was to create an original marketing plan for an artist whether it was an album release, single or tour. The premise of my marketing plan is a debut, solo tour for DJ/Producer Diplo created from the point of view of the booking agency and management team. The tour would be the result of an endorsement deal with Nike, who would assist in funding, promotion and merchandising for the tour. The plan includes a breakdown of the following:

  • Target Markets
    • Demo/Psychographics
    • Geographic targets
  • Sales
  • Strategy
    • Street Team and tasks (Email blasts, stickers, fliers)
  • Publicity (Radio/TV Interviews)
  • Advertising (Print, TV, Websites)
  • A sample market breakdown (Including media outlets in New York City area and specific contacts)
  • Lifestyle Marketing (Filming of an official Promo Trailer)
  • Overview and Itemized Budget (Theoretical)
  • Timeline

Also included is a digital press kit for Diplo and a sample cover story pitch letter to the Editor and Chief of Rolling Stone magazine. The digital press kit is a website created via Wix.com that includes Discography, photos, media appearances, bio and an original One Sheet.
